Sharjah retain UAE Women’s Basketball Cup

Sharjah Women’s Sports Club retained the UAE Women’s Basketball Cup after beating Khorfakkan Club 60-50 in the final at Al Bataeh Club Hall.

The victory secured the 2025-26 title for Sharjah, who had also won the previous edition of the competition.

It was another strong result for the club in women’s basketball, and one that underlined their place at the top of the domestic game.

After the final, Hussain Al Baloushi, a member of the UAE Basketball Federation Board of Directors, and Ghalia Al Mazmi, Board member and Head of the Federation’s Women’s Committee, presented the trophy and gold medals to the Sharjah team.

Mohammed Khadem Al Ketbi, Vice Chairman of Al Bataeh Club’s Board of Directors, and Rashid Al Naqbi, Director of National Teams, also attended the ceremony.

Al Mazmi praised the standard shown by the teams during the tournament. She said the competition reflected the work being done by clubs to support women’s basketball and raise the level of play in the UAE.

For Sharjah, the final was another reminder of their consistency. For the wider women’s game, it offered a clear sign that the domestic competition continues to build.
