Paramount+ has unveiled the first trailer and premiere date for new Australian romantic drama Two Years Later, led by Brenton Thwaites and Phoebe Tonkin.
Set and filmed across Brisbane and southeast Queensland, the eight-part series follows two former commute crushes reconnecting years after the pandemic derailed their daily flirtation, only for one impulsive proposal to send both of their lives into chaos.
The series was first announced by Paramount+ in June last year, with production led by Brisbane-based Hoodlum Entertainment, the company behind former Network 10 and Paramount+ original Five Bedrooms, ABC drama Harrow and Netflix mystery series Tidelands.

Created by screenwriter Pete Bridges, the series explores love, identity and commitment through the lens of two people attempting to reconnect after years of missed timing.

Titans star Brenton Thwaites plays Ryan, whose chance reunion with Emily, played by Boy Swallows Universe actor Phoebe Tonkin, quickly spirals into an unconventional relationship experiment.
His proposal? Eight dates to work out whether they should get married, because apparently standard dating rules were no longer stressful enough.
The series made an early splash at the 2026 AACTA Festival on the Gold Coast earlier this year, where it held its world premiere ahead of its streaming debut.
The first trailer released by Paramount+ teases emotional chaos, awkward chemistry and family complications as the pair attempt to work out whether timing really is everything.
Produced by Emmy and BAFTA-winning company Hoodlum Entertainment, the project was backed by Screen Australia, Paramount ANZ and Screen Queensland, with Banijay Rights handling international sales.

Music in the newly released trailer features an arrangement and recording by Uncanny Valley, with vocals from Australian singer Vera Blue.
All eight episodes of Two Years Later premiere Thursday, 4 June, streaming exclusively on Paramount+ in Australia.
