SBS drops first footage of Delta Goodrem’s Eurovision 2026 staging

Delta Goodrem is bringing full celestial chaos to the Eurovision stage, with SBS unveiling the first look at Australia’s glitter soaked performance of Eclipse from Vienna.

The Australian star’s Semi Final 2 staging promises towering visuals, shifting light effects and enough Swarovski crystals to briefly blind half of Europe, as Eurovision fans finally get a taste of what’s headed to screens later this week.

The performance has been created by staging directors Dan Shipton and Ross Nicholson from Black Skull Creative, with SBS describing the act as a fusion of light, shadow and spectacle inspired by the movement of an eclipse.

Delta’s couture look was designed by Australian labels Velani By Nicky and House of Emmanuele, featuring more than 7,000 Swarovski crystals and a custom crystal eclipse piece designed to sit at the centre of the performance.

SBS Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs said the staging captures “the tension between night and day, moon and sun, light and shadow” as Delta’s vision comes to life on the Eurovision stage.

“It’s been incredible to watch Delta work and see her attention to detail bring her vision to life on stage.”

Delta Goodrem said performing at Eurovision was deeply personal, with the staging designed to move “like the Universe itself” while also celebrating Australian fashion and Vienna’s elegance.

“I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such a talented creative team. When collaboration feels this connected, it really does feel like true alignment.”

The performance also includes nods to Vienna’s musical history, with Delta incorporating piano and harp into the staging as Australia returns to the city where it made its Eurovision debut back in 2015.

SBS’s coverage will again be led by Courtney Act, joined by Voyager frontman Danny Estrin for commentary, while Go-Jo is set to appear during Semi Final 1 as part of a special interval performance.
