In partnership with Simone Pérèle
Confidence, for Lais Oliveira, begins in the moments no one else sees. It comes before the outfit, before the day fully takes shape. There’s an instinctive process – a tuning into her body, a mood, a setting of intentions. And often, that starts with the layer closest to the body.

Wearing Simone Pérèle for RUSSH, that process comes to life through delicate textures, soft structure, and an appreciation for detail that feels almost instinctual. The PLUME collection, with its light shaping and refined lace, is designed to smooth and support while honouring the body’s natural lines. Since its beginnings in Paris, Simone Pérèle has embodied a uniquely feminine vision of lingerie — one rooted in craftsmanship, confidence, and elegance – an archival story reimagined.

First conceived in 1972 as an avant-garde expression of lightness and precision, the classic lace collection returns with renewed clarity. Reworked through next-generation techniques, it balances transparency with structure, softness with intention, and is designed to stretch and offer a “second-skin” feel with light support and shaping, while remaining invisible under clothing. It’s a philosophy grounded in enhancement rather than erasure, where each piece works with the body, not against it.
What unfolds, is Lais in her own words and her own skin – honest, reflective, and grounded in the present. We speak to the Brazilian model about embracing imperfection, releasing the need for validation, and finding ease in her own rhythm.

Confidence is often said to start from within – how does what you wear closest to your skin – like lingerie – influence how you carry yourself throughout the day?
Confidence starts from the inside out – clothing itself reinforces and expresses what I’m feeling that day and in that present moment. When I dress well and comfortably, it aligns with my mood and expression. I feel more confident and at ease to go out and start my day.

What does confidence look like to you right now?
At this moment in my life, confidence to me is about embracing my weaknesses. It’s about being less perfect and more comfortable with my body and myself. Embracing both versions of myself, my strengths and imperfections. I’m not waiting for validation.

If you could give your best three tips for confidence, what would they be?
First, self-love – treating yourself with love, calmness, patience, and cultivating a sense of presence. I think, when you are aware of this, it grows in a more sustainable and sincere way. Second, comfort – both physical and emotional. If it’s flowing smoothly, everything flows smoothly for you and in your favour. And lastly, be true to yourself – in your expectations, integrity and embracing yourself. It’s a daily choice to be conscious and present.

This collection explores lingerie as the foundation of personal style. How do you personally build a look starting from that first layer?
First, I feel the intention of my day – I observe and listen to my body that day, both emotionally and physically. For the first layer, I choose something light, silky, sensual, and sweet. When I feel connected to my first layer, I feel ready to put together my look and start my day.
What were some of your favourite pieces from the Simone Pérèle PLUME collection?
I personally felt touched by some beige lace pieces. They were so beautiful. I felt so elegant and confident wearing them and I loved how detailed they were – I feel that life is always in the details.

How would you style these pieces in your own wardrobe?
I like to style myself in a way that keeps everything simple. I like to feel chic, sweet, sometimes mysterious or even poetic. For me, I would style these pieces in a way that lets the lingerie shine and be itself.

What makes you feel most like yourself when it comes to personal style?
Feeling like myself comes from wearing pieces that reflect my personality, and that allow me to be with myself, that make me feel good about myself. What a delight to do that for myself! Wearing an outfit that feels like ‘me’ feels like having a conversation without needing to speak; just being, just existing. I think my clothes say a lot about me and how I’m feeling that day, and how I want to express myself. I love colours, velvet, theatricality. It makes me feel like I can start my day confidently, fluidly, and with energy.
