Fresh incidents of post-poll violence have been reported from West Bengal, where angry locals vandalised Trinamool Congress candidate Jahangir Khan”s office in Falta. The unrest follows allegations of electronic voting machine tampering and booth rigging at a local polling station, which prompted the Election Commission of India to announce a re-poll in the area. The mob climbed the balcony of the party office, removed banners, and damaged the premises. Protests continue as locals express their anger over the alleged electoral malpractices. The situation remains tense in Falta and other parts of West Bengal, where similar incidents of vandalism targeting political party offices have been reported following the elections.
