Welcome back to Scenic Six.

There are many hidden gems for live music across New England and I recently checked one out: Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, N.H. We stopped at the nearby Rockingham Brewing Company first. I loved the intimate, cozy vibe at both places as well as the friendly service.

A not so hidden gem in New England is the many whale watching tours taking place right now. It’s a quintessential New England activity and I’ve got all the information you need to know before booking your excursion this season. I’m also sharing details about new spring service on the fare-free Island Explorer at Maine’s Acadia National Park, opening day for Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire, $1 oysters in Rhode Island, and more.

Everything you need to know about going on a whale watch

I took this photo during a whale watch off of Cape Cod. That particular whale watch tour was spectacular, but I’ve never been on a bad one. I chatted with expert Laura Howes about everything folks need to know in preparation for a whale watch. You can check out our conversation here.
