American economist and Johns Hopkins University professor Steve Hanke on Saturday hinted that US President Donald Trump had no more moves in war against Iran.
“Iran has Trump cornered. Trump is checkmated,” he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
In a post prior to this one, Hanke said Trump’s tariffs and preference for war was bad for the American economy.
“The University of Michigan’s consumer-sentiment index dropped to an all-time low. TRUMP’S TARIFFS & WAR MADNESS = BAD NEWS FOR THE US ECONOMY,” he posted.
Many individuals replied to Hanke’s posts that such views point towards a leftist ideology in political terms.
Others said the current situation can no longer be attributed to Trump alone. The US Congress is pursuing this, and that much is clear given that it already has sufficient support to invoke the 25th Amendment.
This is not being framed as a Trump-specific policy, but rather as the policy of the US government as a whole, a usuer commented.
