Golf fans have been treated to a brilliant YouTube video featuring Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy in one of the most entertaining challenges you’ll see this year.
The Ryder Cup teammates appeared in a promotional clip for TaylorMade where they swapped their entire golf bags and played a three-hole match using each other’s equipment.
It turns out watching two of the world’s finest players struggle with unfamiliar setups makes for fantastic viewing.
Fleetwood even mimicked McIlroy’s mannerisms during the challenge, showing off the playful friendship between the pair that fans absolutely love to see.

The highlight of the video came when Fleetwood convinced McIlroy to abandon his usual precision-based approach and grab the 9-wood instead.
McIlroy had been calculating his yardage when Fleetwood jumped in with his suggestion, and the six-time major champion reluctantly agreed despite his obvious doubts.
After hitting the shot, McIlroy admitted: “I mean, it’s in play. Nice flight.”
Fleetwood couldn’t resist pointing out how different it looked, asking if the “soft high spinny flight” seemed strange since McIlroy would never normally play that way.
McIlroy’s verdict? “It just looks so weak… but it’s really nice.”

The 9-wood experiment continued to backfire as McIlroy persisted with Fleetwood’s strategy.
When faced with a 215-yard shot, Fleetwood urged him to stick with the club, joking about how the tee shot had looked “weak and floaty.”
McIlroy hit it too far and let out a frustrated “Ah no,” noting the club “just goes to 230 no matter how you hit it.”
With the match slipping away, Fleetwood admitted: “Yeah, I talked you into that.”
After losing the challenge, McIlroy took it brilliantly, saying: “I don’t think your 9-wood 9-wood strategy worked. It’s fine, it’s okay. You talked me into it. I’ll forgive you. Good match.”

Fans were quick to praise the exchange in the comments section, with one writing: “Tommy peer pressuring Rory is top tier trolling. Love it.”
Another posted: “Tommy advocating so hard for the 9 wood lol,” while others said they loved seeing the pair having fun together on the course.
It’s been a strong period for both players, with Fleetwood claiming his maiden PGA Tour victory at the 2025 Tour Championship and McIlroy adding to his major collection with his recent Masters triumph.
The video perfectly captured why golf fans can’t get enough of this Ryder Cup partnership.
