Malvika Agarwal and Mukul Sharma first met 12 years ago through a mutual acquaintance. Agarwal, who grew up between Kolkata and Delhi and later spent five years studying at the London School of Economics, now works alongside her father in the family business. Sharma was raised in Delhi, later spent time in New York and now works in his family’s manufacturing and infrastructure business. What began as a casual introduction gradually turned into a close friendship. “Over time we became best friends before eventually realising their connection was something deeper.”
That long history shaped their celebrations, which brought 500 guests to a three-day wedding in Udaipur across The Oberoi Udaivilas and Trident Udaipur, with the couple citing the lakeside palaces, views of Lake Pichola and the timelessness of the venues as central to their decision.
Sharma proposed to Agarwal at Reschio, a thousand-year-old castle estate between Umbria and Tuscany. Set across rolling hills, olive groves and a restored medieval property, they spent the day exploring the grounds before Sharma proposed at sunset. “The proposal felt especially meaningful as it took place in a setting that perfectly reflected our love for travel, romance and shared experiences.”
Each event was designed to feel like a completely different experience, allowing guests to move through a series of distinct visual worlds over the course of their wedding in Udaipur. The festivities began on November 28, 2025 with a welcome lunch at Trident Udaipur, where Agarwal and Sharma both wore Manish Malhotra. That evening, the celebrations moved to The Oberoi Udaivilas for a sangeet built around a Burlesque Rouge theme. Crimson tones, velvet textures and dramatic lighting shaped the night, while Agarwal wore Tarun Tahiliani with jewellery by Sunita Shekhawat and Sharma stayed with Manish Malhotra.
The next day, the mehendi at Trident Udaipur took its cues from the Italian countryside where the couple had got engaged, with soft florals and pastel hues giving the afternoon a lighter mood. Agarwal wore Rahul Mishra with Goenka India jewellery, while Sharma wore Manish Malhotra with jewellery by Sunita Shekhawat. By evening, the mood turned again. The cocktail and musical night, themed Garden of Light, brought in cool blue and teal tones, illuminated architectural installations and sculptural lighting. Agarwal changed into Tarun Tahiliani with Goenka India jewellery, while Sharma remained in Manish Malhotra.
