A Fall River man was killed Saturday in a late night motorcycle crash in Westport, the local DA said.
Police received a call At around 11:38 p.m. regarding a single motorcycle crash outside of a home near 178 Main Road, the office of Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn said in a press release.
Police found a significantly damaged motorcycle beside the road. Debris from the Harley Davidson motorcycle was scattered throughout the road and into the home’s yard, Quinn’s office wrote.
The victim, John Soares, IV, 29, was found 50 feet from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Quinn’s office said.
A telephone pole and stone wall appeared to be damaged in the crash, the DA’s office said.
The incident is still under investigation, the DA said.
