Coming this May, Hahndorf’s Spanish-themed tapas bar and restaurant, Comida, is serving up the perfect event for those cold autumn nights. Over the 16th and 17th of May, the crew will be cooking up an absolute BBQ feast – and you’re invited to the party.
They’re firing up an open grill at their beloved Hahndorf spot, cooking your favourite meats and veggies low and slow all weekend long. Expect an Argentinian BBQ that’ll leave you salivating. Forget micro-greens and blink-and-you-miss-it bites, this is real food, done properly; and when it comes to steak and BBQ, the Argentinians set the standard.
But come for the food, stay for the party. Joining forces with Adelaide Hills favourite, Mordrelle Wines, there’ll be spanish/argentinian Vino will be flowing long into the night – and the team has even promised each guest a glass of Spanish red upon arrival! Bring your family, gather your friends, and don’t forget a picnic blanket – this is a night made for stretching out on the lawn (at least at first). With live music and DJs, chances are you won’t stay seated for long. Sip on tempranillo, indulge in a rich Argentinian feast, and tango/salsa long into the night.

Comida is set in a prime location on Hahndorf’s bustling main street, on a spacious property with lush gardens filled with home-grown fruits and vegetables that regularly feature on the menu. What began as a home-based catering business has quickly grown into an Adelaide Hills favourite that’s as Instagrammable as it is delicious. Their picturesque deck area has played host to all kinds of events over the years, from formal sit-down fiestas to cocktail-style celebrations with tapas, paella and wood oven pizzas served alongside drinks from the garden bar.

Their partner in crime for the occasion? Mordrelle Wines. Together, they make a dangerously good combo. This family-owned boutique winery is consistently featured in Australia’s Top 100 Wines, most recently in Weekend Magazine’s 2025 Top 100 Wines for their Blanc de Blanc, cementing their status as the crème de la crème.
