Recently, Nadia Afgan appeared on Amna Haider Isani’s YouTube show AHI, where she opened up about her father’s prediction of divorce before her first marriage to Anjum Shehzad, who gained fame as Bobby from Family Front.
Talking about it, Nadia Afgan said, “My father was very farsighted—may he rest in peace. When I was getting married, he asked me to rethink my decision because he said there was still the time to back off. He said, ‘We won’t mind. We will serve good food to the guests and send them home happily—but don’t do this to yourself. You two are different.’ After six months, I realized he was right, but I still tried to make it work for a year. Things got worse, and many people intervened, including Samina Aapa and Sarmad Khoosat. But my father said it was okay to end things before having children. He was always there for me and said, ‘Just give me a call and I will be there for you.’ One day, I called him and said it wasn’t working. He drove to Lahore, and we ended it. My ex husband didn’t want it to end like this, but may Allah bless him. People should move on when they see a marriage isn’t working.”
