Anyma’s Late-Night Coachella Set Canceled Due to ‘Strong Winds’

“I’m sorry everyone. We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on,” EDM star says after midnight set called off

Anyma‘s late-night set at Coachella was canceled due to “strong winds” that hit the festival grounds Friday.

The EDM star was scheduled to take the main stage at midnight Friday, about 90 minutes after Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set. However, the festival announced around 12:15 a.m. that there had been a “scheduling change.”

“Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform,” organizers and Anyma said in a statement posted on social media. “Coachella & Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority.”

Anyma added, “I’m sorry everyone. We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now.” The DJ was set to premiere a new performance titled “Aeden” at the festival.

It’s unclear whether Anyma’s first weekend set will be pushed to either Saturday or Sunday. Anyma is also scheduled to perform at Coachella’s second weekend next week.

Fortunately for festival goers, the “strong winds” only impacted Friday’s closing set, as the bulk of the first day lineup — Sabrina Carpenter, Turnstile, the xx, Katseye, and more — performed without weather warnings.

As of Saturday morning, no weather warnings have been issued for today’s lineup, which includes a headlining set by Justin Bieber as well as the Strokes, David Byrne, Interpol, Addison Rae, Nine Inch Noize, and more.
