Memento Mori | Write Out Loud

Memento mori

it’s just the very same old story

You live and you die no glory

Your time is a borrowed thing

Hopefully some pleasure it will bring

Death I embrace you with glee

Memento mori

You bless me with abundant life

My share of joy trouble and strife

Clouds they float calm and sure

Under and endless sky of azure

Engulf embrace and consume me

Memento mori

The minutes become hours see

Weeks and years become history

Here today and gone tomorrow

A maelstrom of love hate hope and sorrow

My fate awaits and eternal sanctuary

Memento mori

Escape there is none

Of many you are but one

Your time has finally come

Carpe diem you had a good run

Memento mori
