Eagles
With just two weeks until the Las Vegas Raiders are officially on the clock with the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, it’s time to prepare for who the Eagles will select.
Currently sitting at 23rd overall, the Eagles have never been a franchise afraid of moving up or down to make sure they draft the player at the top of their boards.
In previous years, the Eagles have made the following first round draft moves:
- Traded a 2024 4th and 2023 10th overall to select DT Jalen Carter at 9th
- Traded a 5th round pick and #32 overall to move up to #31 to select LB Jihaad Campbell
- In 2022, during the draft traded #’s 18 and 101 to Tennessee in exchange for WR A.J. Brown
- In the same draft, the Eagles traded #’s 15, 124, 162 and 166 to move up to 13th overall to select DT Jordan Davis
There’s multiple more moves that Howie Roseman has made to make sure he lands the player he’s after. From Cooper DeJean (second round) to DeVonta Smith. They have parted ways with numerous picks and simultaneously gathered some later selections.
Now, with the draft around the corner. It’s time to get excited about who might be the newest player to wear Midnight (and Kelly) Greens in the upcoming season.
The Pick Is In
With the 23rd overall pick in the draft. The Philadelphia Eagles have multiple options depending on how they view the 2026 season. As another all-in year, or another season to re-tool and reload the cupboards with prospects and picks.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
My #1 pick for the Eagles is adding another Toledo Rocket to the secondary. Acquiring McNeil-Warren at 23 becomes a steal on its own, currently sitting at Rank #21 at PFF. If things are getting dicey there’s an opportunity to trade up with teams like the Vikings(18), Panthers(19) or Steelers(21) to guarantee the Eagles land their guy.
With the only Safeties currently on the roster being Drew Mukuba, Andre Sam and Marcus Epps. Something has to be done with the position. And this far into free agency with no moves made for any available players. The writing is on the wall that McNeil-Warren might be the Eagles do or die on April 23rd.
McNeil-Warren departs his senior year with 77 total tackles, 5.5 TFL, 0.5 Sacks and 2 Interceptions.
Kenyon Sadiq
While the Eagles have gone out of their way to load up the Tight End room for new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Adding Stone Smartt and Johnny Mundt while also keeping Grant Calcaterra and Dallas Goedert in house doesn’t leave much room for change.
If you move camp bodies aside and are serious about finding a future Goedert replacement. Cashing in on Sadiq could solve some problems.
With 560 yards and 8 touchdowns in his 3rd college season, Sadiq finds himself Rank #14 on the PFF Big Board. Getting ahead of a future roster hole is exactly the game the Eagles have played in previous years.
When Dallas Goedert was drafted in 2018 with the 49th overall pick, he spent 3 and a half seasons behind Zach Ertz on the depth chart before taking over the starting role to close out the 2021 season.
Max Iheanachor / Olaivavga Ioane
There’s an inpending doom around the Eagles offensive line. After underperforming seasons from Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens due to injuries. There’s another big question mark about how long the Eagles will have a generational talent with Lane Johnson at Right Tackle.
Using a 1st round pick on an offensive lineman has been suggested for years. Finally having stability in a recurring OL of
Mailata-Dickerson-Jurgens-Steen-Johnson
is a luxury not many teams have.
However the issue comes back to spending a 1st round pick on a potential player who won’t see much playing time barring any major injuries, or blowouts that see the 2nd string offense take the field.
When the clocks starts for the Eagles. Which player are you sprinting to the podium for?
