Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam added another major milestone to his glittering T20 career by becoming the fastest batter in men’s T20 history to complete 12,000 runs.
The landmark came during Peshawar Zalmi’s PSL 11 clash against Karachi Kings at the National Stadium, where Babar Azam entered the match just 13 runs short of the milestone. He got there in style by smashing Khushdil Shah for a six over mid-on in the fourth over of the innings.
With that, Babar became only the 12th batter in men’s T20 cricket to cross the 12,000-run mark, joining an elite group that includes names like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, David Warner, and Shoaib Malik.

What makes the achievement even more significant is the speed with which he got there. Babar Azam reached the milestone in 338 innings, making him the quickest player to do so.
That puts him ahead of Chris Gayle, who got to the mark in 343 innings, while Virat Kohli and David Warner follow further behind.
The milestone adds yet another record to Babar’s already decorated T20 résumé, where he has consistently remained among the format’s most prolific run-scorers across international and franchise cricket.
While Chris Gayle still sits at the top of the all-time men’s T20 run charts, Babar’s latest feat underlines his place among the modern greats of the format and further strengthens his standing as one of Pakistan’s finest white-ball batters.
The achievement also comes at an important time for Zalmi, with Babar Azam once again carrying the responsibility of leading the side’s batting charge in PSL 11.
