Set in one of Mexico City’s most culturally dynamic quarters, Colonia Juárez, Soho House Mexico City occupies a storied residence that reflects the neighbourhood’s layered past and creative present. The property – Soho House’s first outpost in Latin America – sits within a restored historic casa originally built in the early 20th century, later associated with notable figures including General Juan Prim, and long embedded in the city’s architectural and cultural fabric.
Today, the building has been carefully reimagined, preserving its French-influenced Baroque detailing while introducing a distinctly contemporary Mexican identity. Ornate façades, original stonework and iron accents are softened by richly textured interiors, where custom pieces by local artisans sit alongside vintage finds and a curated collection of Mexican art. Inside, the atmosphere unfolds as a series of intimate, character-filled spaces – from leafy courtyards and softly lit lounges to a pool framed like a greenhouse and rooms that feel both social and secluded.

Designed and curated by …
Soho House Mexico is housed in a beautifully restored early 1900s Baroque and French inspired mansion in the heart of Colonia Juárez. Their 2023 restoration honours the building’s original architectural richness with its high ceilings, carved stone, ornate ironwork, and parquet flooring, while the interiors introduce bold contemporary touches, locally made custom furniture and vintage pieces from Mexican Designers.
I stay here because …
I’ve always heard the most incredible things about Mexico City, it’s been on my bucket list for such a long time. With a connecting flight through the city, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to stop over and explore.
My last visit was …
I’m a first timer! And it won’t be our last.
What I love about the room …
The room was light filled, expansive and the bathroom was fitted out in my future home interior dreams. Currently there are only four rooms available to stay in at Soho House.
Amenities worth a mention …
The pool that soaks in the sunlight was our favourite for an afternoon drink and time to relax after a busy day site seeing. The room is also equipped with some of the best hotel amenities I’ve ever experienced. It also offers a mini bar complete with snacks.
It’s the details that count …
The staff remember your name and even your coffee order, creating a truly personalised experience.
Room service order …
The in-room freshly baked cookies are unforgettable. I also loved the evening bar service; a cocktail trolley brought directly to your door.
Places nearby worth frequenting …
Wander around the streets of Roma and Condesa, where you will find lots of boutiques, vintage stores, incredible street food merchants and restaurants. Commando was great for a Barry’s-style group class, and Barre Mx for a barre class. X I N Ú Perfumes was amazing for a different fragrance experience.
The one thing I always return home with …
A deep desire to book my next trip before I’ve even unpacked.
Gallery …
Casa-Estudio Diego Rivera & Frida Kahlo, Museo Frida Kahlo (The Red House – book in advance); Museo Jumex – contemporary art; Museo de Antropología – incredible to go with a guide gives you a great understanding of the history. I highly recommend this before seeing the pyramids (if this was also on your list). Nido de Quetzalcóatl (approx. 40 minutes from the city) -–a beautiful sculptural garden.
Dinner…
Vorazz, Martinez, Ultramarinos de mar, Contramar, Maximo Bistrot, Harve 77 (a French bistro with the best burger in CDMX), Cantina Lupita (amazing Mexican music), Tacos Atarantados (make sure you order the Al pastor gringas and also the rib eye gringas), and La Bonvi.
