It’s one of the saddest cruelties for this country that alarm clocks weren’t invented earlier than they were. And seeing as you’re interested I’ll tell you why.
A quick history lesson might be in order first though.
In the mid 5th century there is no doubt that a King Arthur might or might not have led the British forces at Mount Badon to rout the “English” Saxon invaders. Soon after he must have dozed off because “history” has it that he would rise again when his country needed him.
So! Bugger me! Where was he when Kirk Douglas and the Vikings came 400 years later? Or when William the Conker came 200 years after that? Or when all these migrants came here breathing our air and all that?
