Multan Sultans Release Star Player Ahead of PSL 11 Clash

Multan Sultans have granted leave to their premier opener, Sahibzada Farhan, ahead of their 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) fixture against Peshawar Zalmi scheduled for April 13 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

According to sources, Sahibzada Farhan has traveled from Karachi to Peshawar to attend to personal matters.

The franchise has also released batting coach Sohaib Maqsood for the same period, who has returned to Multan to spend time with his family.

Both Farhan and Maqsood are expected to rejoin the squad in Karachi on April 11 or 12, just ahead of the team’s next match.

Sources further indicated that the move is part of a broader approach by the Multan Sultans management, which may consider granting short breaks to additional players after the April 13 fixture. The initiative is aimed at supporting players’ mental well-being during the demanding tournament schedule.

Sahibzada Farhan has been one of the standout performers for Multan Sultans in PSL 11, playing a crucial role at the top of the order. He currently leads the tournament’s run charts with 232 runs in five innings at an average of 58.00, highlighting his consistency and impact.

His performances include a blistering 68 off 36 balls against RawalPindiz, where he provided strong momentum in the powerplay and helped secure a dominant win. He also scored an unbeaten century against Lahore Qalandars, guiding Multan Sultans to a six-wicket victory.

Overall, Farhan’s aggressive stroke play, combined with his composure, has been central to Multan Sultans’ strong campaign in the tournament so far.

In a separate development, Karachi Kings have received a boost with the return of Hasan Ali, Adam Zampa, and Azam Khan to the squad. The trio had previously been released on April 4.

Meanwhile, Karachi Kings captain David Warner is also set to rejoin the team. His manager confirmed that Warner will link up with the squad on April 9.

Warner had earlier been detained by New South Wales Police over an alleged incident involving driving under the influence.
