A new housing proposal could bring more apartments to Fort Point.

According to Universal Hub, a developer is planning to convert two office buildings at 320 Summer Street, near A Street, into 145 residential units with ground-floor retail.

The project would fall under the city’s office-to-residential conversion program, which encourages turning underused office space into housing. As part of the plan, at least 25 of the units would be set aside for income-restricted renters earning up to 60% of the area median income.  A letter of intent was filled with the City of Boston this week.

Plans also include adding a mezzanine level to create some loft-style apartments. No parking is proposed, but the location is just a few blocks from South Station and bus routes along Summer Street.
