Growing up in Greater Boston, the Boston Marathon has always been more than just a race to me — it’s a symbol of our community’s spirit, resilience, and heart. I still remember standing along the course in 2023, watching my sister run. Seeing her cross that finish line on Boylston Street — surrounded by cheering crowds and unwavering support — lit a spark in me. Now, in 2026, it’s my turn to take on those 26.2 miles, and I’m running for something even bigger than myself.

For over 225 years, The Home for Little Wanderers has been a cornerstone of hope for children and families across the Northeast. They provide stability, safety, and care for kids who have faced abuse, neglect, homelessness, and trauma — ensuring that every child has the chance to heal, learn, and grow into a future filled with possibility.

From adoption and foster care to behavioral health services, special education, and residential care, The Home supports thousands of children every year — helping them build permanent, positive change. As America’s oldest child welfare agency, their mission is simple but powerful: to help children and their families build stable lives and hopeful tomorrows.

Every step I take on Marathon Monday will be for them — for the kids who’ve faced unimaginable challenges, and for the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure no child has to go through life alone
