Upcoming anime film To You in the Beyond has gotten a teaser trailer (available in 60- and 30-second varieties) and a teaser visual. The latter is drawn by the movie’s character designer hechima (Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Tsukuyomi character designer), with the layout draft coming from director Junichi Wada (High Card, Caligula, WorldEnd) and the backgrounds from Yuki Sekine.
The new promotional material arrived with some casting announcements. Hiiro Ishibashi is voicing male protagonist Kazuki Tsukigase, who discovers Anna Nagase‘s amnesiac Nanao Aika unconsciousness on a particular inlet. Also revealed were Simba Tsuchiya as Kazuki’s classmate Mikiya Ozaki and Hiroshi Tamaki as Takatsu, who’s described as holding the key to the story.

To You in the Beyond (Doko yori mo Toi Basho ni Iru Kimi e) is set to begin screening on October 9 in Japan. It adapts the “boy-meets-girl” novel by Akiko Abe.
The movie’s staff also includes Sayaka Kuwamura as scriptwriter and Minoru Onishi as background art director. TMS Entertainment Studio 6 is the animation production studio.
The original novel was released in 2017 under the Shueisha Orange Bunko label/imprint and won the 22nd Honya Taisho Award.
