WOLLONGONG, Australia — Tim Tszyu’s comeback tour continues on Easter Sunday when he fights unbeaten Albanian Denis Nurja at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
Victory for the 31-year-old Australian boxer is tipped to earn him a mega fight later in the year against former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr., who is rumoured to be ending a three-year boxing hiatus in 2026. However, that opportunity could be snatched away from Tszyu should the former WBO junior middleweight champion suffer a fourth defeat in six fights.

Tszyu (26-3, 18 KOs) last stepped into the ring in December, where he scored a dominant unanimous decision over Anthony Velazquez in Sydney. Nurja (20-0, 9 KOs), meanwhile, has been highly active in Europe, fighting eight times for eight wins over the past 24 months, including a knockout of Venezuela’s Jose Gregorio Marcano in Tirana just six weeks ago.
“I feel better than ever and I’m ready to get back to work,” Tszyu said. “There are some massive opportunities ahead, but none of that matters unless I get through this fight. My full focus is on Easter Sunday and the job in front of me. I want to get back to the top of the division and fight for world titles again and this is the first step.
“I feel like I did fall apart. I am putting the wheels back in motion and I’m coming and I’m gunning straight back to that No. 1 spot. Whoever is in the way of that, they’re in danger.”
Also featuring on Easter Sunday’s blockbuster card is former NRL pair Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Jarrod Wallace; the duo meeting for a second time. Sam Goodman will also be in action, facing dangerous Mexican Rodrigo Ruiz in an IBF super bantamweight world title eliminator.
