Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has wished Australians a happy Easter as many face financial challenges resulting from the Middle East war.
The short video message showed Albanese in a navy suit, white shirt and silver tie with the prime minister reflecting on the religious importance of Easter Sunday.
“This Easter, Christians across Australia are uniting in contemplation of the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in celebration of the grace at the heart of their faith,” he said.

“This is a time of reflection and a time of joy. Hopefully you’re catching up with family and friends and maybe helping kids enjoy the fun of an Easter egg hunt in a backyard.
“If you’re having a break this weekend, please drive safely. And if you’re working, thank you for all that you do. I wish you all a wonderful Easter.”
The prime minister made no mention of the pressures being felt across Australia as a result of the Middle East conflict, with petrol prices only this week dropping as a result of the fuel excise slash but now fears are growing that grocery prices will be the next rise.

The message comes days after Albanese made the rare move to issue a televised address to the nation during prime time about the Middle East conflict and what Australians can do to weather the storm.
The address was met with mixed reviews, with the prime minister criticised for lacking detail or a plan during the three-minute speech while others said it provided the public with the necessary reassurance during a turbulent time.
