Islamabad United’s Star Batter Calls Out Fake IPL Tweet Amid PSL Campaign

Islamabad United’s star batter Devon Conway has clarified his stance after a viral social media post falsely attributed to him sparked debate during the ongoing 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).

Earlier this week, a statement from a verified X (formerly Twitter) account impersonating Conway gained traction online. The post appeared to reference Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) loss to Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), suggesting Conway was disappointed to miss the match while playing in the PSL.

The post read: “Hard to sit this one out… Watching CSK lose to Rajasthan Royals hurts. Right now I’m locked in with PSL duties, but revenge at Chepauk will always be on my mind.”

The message quickly went viral, leading to discussions among cricket fans about whether Conway should comment on the IPL while being part of the PSL.

However, Conway dismissed the statement through his official Instagram account, making it clear that the viral post did not come from him. He also confirmed that he does not use X or Facebook.

“Hey guys, please ignore this X account impersonating me. I am not on X/Facebook and this account is not affiliated with me in any way,” Conway wrote on his Instagram story.

He added that he has reported the impersonating account and hopes it will be removed soon.

Conway has previously represented Chennai Super Kings in the IPL during the 2022, 2023, and 2025 seasons, which contributed to the credibility of the viral post among fans.
