Pakistan national football team suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat against Myanmar national football team in their latest AFC Asian Cup qualifiers clash, extending their winless run in the competition.
Pakistan showed resilience in the first half, managing to hold Myanmar to a goalless draw at the break. However, the match took a dramatic turn early in the second half when goalkeeper Saqib Hanif accidentally turned the ball into his own net, handing Myanmar a crucial lead.

The situation worsened in the 59th minute when Than Piang doubled Myanmar’s advantage with a well-taken goal, putting Pakistan under significant pressure.
Despite trailing by two goals, Pakistan attempted a late comeback. Shayak Dost found the net in stoppage time (90+1), giving the visitors a glimmer of hope. However, the goal came too late to change the outcome, as Myanmar held on to secure all three points.
Than Piang was later named Man of the Match for his decisive contribution.
With the win, Myanmar move up to second place in Group E with nine points, sitting just behind group leaders Syria national football team. Meanwhile, Pakistan remain at the bottom of the standings with just two points, having managed two draws and suffered three defeats so far in the qualifiers.
