The Presets are officially locked in to headline this year’s Norwood Food & Wine Festival, bringing a free live set packed with big-name hits to The Parade on Sunday 12 April at 5:30pm as Gather Round takes over South Australia once again.
The festival will run from 11am, with free entry and a full day of food, drinks, cooking demos and footy-fuelled atmosphere in the heart of Norwood.
For Gather Round fans, it is shaping up as one of the biggest off-field drawcards of the weekend. The Norwood Food & Wine Festival returns as part of the AFL Gather Round program, with The Parade set to come alive with live music, roving entertainment, pop-up food and drink stalls, outdoor seating, DJs and big screens showing the action.
The nearby Geelong Cats v West Coast Eagles clash at Norwood Oval is scheduled for 12pm on the same day, making the festival an easy all-day option for both ticket holders and anyone simply wanting to soak up the buzz.
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said it creates a fun, accessible way to share the excitement of AFL Gather Round
“This is also an amazing platform to showcase the best of our state to the rest of the nation.
“Live music always adds to the street party atmosphere, and we are thrilled The Presets will bring their unique style and energy to this celebration.
“It’s another major event win for our state,” he said.
And this is no small neighbourhood event, more than 90,000 people attended the festival in 2025, up 28 per cent on the year before.
This year’s festival food line-up is expected to be a major attraction in its own right. Traders and collaborations announced so far include arkhé serving a Mayura Station wagyu beef burger, Enoteca dishing up pasta including an alfredo-style serve tossed through a parmesan wheel, Fair Seafood offering oysters and kingfish, and a stack of local wine, beer and spirit pairings across the day.
Festivalgoers can also expect chef demonstrations in the Tasting Australia Kitchen, with names including Kane Pollard, Laura Sharrad and Duncan Welgemoed listed for the culinary program.
As for the headline act, The Presets bring serious firepower.
The Australian electronic duo broke through with Beams in 2005, before Apocalypso won Album of the Year at the 2008 ARIA Awards. Their catalogue includes era-defining tracks like My People, Talk Like That and This Boy’s in Love, making them a fitting choice for a late-afternoon festival set designed to turn a food-and-footy crowd into a full-blown street party.
Gather Round has become as much about the atmosphere around the games as the games themselves, and Norwood has emerged as one of the weekend’s signature precincts.
With a sold-out stadium nearby, free festival access, local traders spilling onto The Parade and one of Australia’s most recognisable electronic acts on stage, this year’s Norwood Food & Wine Festival looks set to deliver one of the biggest party moments of the Gather Round weekend.
