Port Adelaide’s New Found Sound have unveiled its biggest festival lineup yet

Port Adelaide is set to come alive with music once again, with New Found Sound returning this May for its biggest edition yet.

The free, all-ages festival will take over Port Adelaide (Yartapuulti ) on Saturday 9 May, bringing 40 acts across 10 venues for an expansive night of live music in one of South Australia’s most distinctive precincts. Now in its third year, the event has quickly cemented itself as a standout on the local cultural calendar, drawing more than 5,500 music lovers to Port Adelaide in 2025.

This year, New Found Sound is going even bigger, with interstate artists joining the lineup for the first time alongside a huge mix of South Australian talent. That means audiences can expect a broader sound, more discovery, and even more reasons to spend the evening moving through Port Adelaide’s streets, laneways and waterfront spaces.

“New Found Sound is the ultimate celebration of the creative spirit of the Port Adelaide precinct,” says City of Port Adelaide Enfield Deputy Mayor Barbara Clayton.

“Where else can you watch artists perform in front of a 156-year-old lighthouse, jump aboard
the country’s oldest clipper ship to experience one of Australia’s most acclaimed experimental
musicians, take a cruise on the Port River to catch some of the state’s best folk acts, or head to
one of Port Adelaide’s many iconic venues for an unforgettable afternoon and evening of live
music?”

This is not a festival confined to one site. Instead, New Found Sound invites people to explore Port Adelaide through its venues, from Waterside Workers Hall and the City of Adelaide Clipper Ship to the SA Maritime Museum and Lighthouse Wharf.

Local favourites including Pirate Life, McGregor & Young Distillery, Colac Port Adelaide, Fergie Mac’s Lounge, 10 Gallon Hat and Port River Cruises will also host performances throughout the night.

Among the interstate guests joining the bill are Sydney DIY punk act Canine, Noongar Wongi rapper INKABEE, Guringai sisters Charlie Needs Braces, and Tasmanian electronic duo Mum and Dad.

They’ll perform alongside 36 local acts, with names including Adam Page, Druid Fluids, Ella Ion and Meena de Silva helping round out the biggest program the festival has seen so far.

The festival’s focus remains firmly on original music, with a lineup spanning emerging, mid-career and established artists.

That commitment has helped New Found Sound build a reputation as more than just a live music event. It has become a showcase for Port Adelaide’s creative identity, while also delivering a boost for local venues, businesses and the broader night time economy.

For punters, it means one thing: a free night out packed with variety, atmosphere and the chance to experience live music in some of the state’s most memorable settings.
