A diagnostic error at a scanning centre in Narsampet town of Telangana’s Warangal district has triggered tension after a minor girl was wrongly reported as pregnant, prompting outrage from her family and a police probe.

Doubting the findings, the family sought a second opinion. A doctor advised further evaluation in Warangal, where a private nursing home conducted detailed tests. The examination found that the girl was not pregnant but had a small tissue growth in the uterus.

Doctors subsequently performed a minor surgical procedure to remove the growth.

Following the revised diagnosis, the girl’s family confronted staff at the Narsampet scanning centre, alleging negligence and accusing them of causing severe mental trauma.

The situation escalated into a scuffle between both sides.

Complaints have been filed by both parties at the Narsampet Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway.

The family has demanded strict action against the medical personnel involved, warning that such incorrect diagnoses can have serious psychological and social consequences.
