Kassidy Morris added her name to the Massachusetts women’s lacrosse record book on Saturday against Robert Morris, becoming the program’s all‑time leading goal scorer and surpassing a mark that had stood for over a decade. UMass (8-2, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) dominated the Colonials (3-8, 1-2 MAC) in a 18-6 showing, with Morris tallying six for the Minutewomen.
The redshirt senior attacker surpassed Katie Ferris’ long‑standing mark of 211 career goals and now sits at 213 after UMass’ win. Ferris, a 2017 graduate, still holds the program’s career points record with 330.
“[Morris] has a really high IQ. She knows the place, [and] she knows how to draw it up,” head coach Jana Drummond said.
After several early attacks against Robert Morris, the Ontario native broke the record on a free‑position opportunity five minutes into the third quarter. Positioned on the eight‑meter arc, Morris released a low underhand shot, finding the left side of the net to mark her 212th career goal.
“Half of us couldn’t believe [Morris broke the record], and half of us were like, wait, what just happened?” Drummond said. “[She is] just such a silent, deadly player and her shooting was on point [Saturday].”
Morris entered the 2026 season within striking distance of the program’s goal record after three productive years with the Minutewomen. She continues to build on that pace and currently ranks eighth nationally in NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse in goals per game.
The redshirt senior’s most productive season came in 2025. She set single-season program records with 78 goals and 101 points. She recorded 13 consecutive games with four or more goals. Morris scored a career-high eight goals against St. Bonaventure, and posted 10 points (seven goals, three assists) in a game against VCU.
Morris also led UMass to an Atlantic 10 championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance that season. Her performance earned A-10 Offensive Player of the Year honors along with multiple all-conference and all-championship selections.
Across her career, Morris has been a central contributor to a Minutewomen offense that ranks sixth nationally in goals per game this season. Her consistency has played a key role in the program’s success in both conference and non-conference play.
“[Morris’] freshman year … It was, how do we grow her as a person and as a player to help continue to leave that legacy behind for this program?” Drummond said. “I think she’s really bought into that.”
Her production with UMass began in 2023 and carried into a larger role in 2024. As a redshirt freshman, she scored 32 goals and earned A-10 All-Rookie Team honors, posting a .864 shot-on-goal percentage. Morris had 10 multi-goal games including four goals against Duquesne and three in the A-10 Championship opener against Davidson.
Morris followed that with 63 goals in 2024, averaging 3.5 per game. The Ontario native recorded hat tricks in 14 games and scored in each of the Minutewomen’s first 15 contests, with seven-goal performances against Davidson, VCU, and UConn. The attacker finished the season with 79 total points and First-Team All-A-10 honors.
Morris continues her redshirt-senior season as UMass’ all-time leading goal scorer, adding to a record that may continue to grow through the remainder of the schedule.
“[Morris] wants to be great, so her love of the game shows through with her ability to work on all different skill sets,” Drummond said. “She has a ton in her toolbox.”
Morris and the Minutewomen will be back in action on Wednesday, April 1 to face Bryant. The matchup is scheduled for 3 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.
