On the other hand, locals argued that the sanctity of the temple was being disturbed. They alleged that tourist activities and pre-wedding shoots were causing environmental damage and violating dress codes, and urged authorities to protect the site as a religious centre.

Following the incident, the injured photographers filed a complaint with the police. However, alleging that no FIR was registered, hundreds of photographers gathered outside the Sakleshpur Rural Police Station and staged a protest.

The protest later turned tense as a heated argument broke out between photographers and locals, leading to brief pushing and shoving. Police faced difficulty in bringing the situation under control, with high drama unfolding in front of the police station.

The Hassan District Photographers’ Association has demanded strict action against those responsible. Meanwhile, amid allegations and counter-allegations from both sides, police have launched an investigation into the matter.
