Broncos flyer Josiah Karapani has been hit with a fine and banned from Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley precinct for an alleged incident overnight.
The 24-year-old is banned from Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley Precinct for 28 days after he was being a public nuisance at 3.30am on Saturday morning, Queensland police said.
The incident happened in the hours after Karapani had 120 run metres and five tackle busts in the Broncos’ 26-12 win over the Dolphins in the Battle of Brisbane.

In a statement, the Broncos said the NRL integrity unit has been made aware.
“The Brisbane Broncos confirm that Josiah Karapani has received a Queensland Police Service infringement notice for the offence of ‘Public Nuisance’ and a banning notice after police spoke to him in Ann Street, Fortitude Valley around 3:30am this morning,” the statement reads.
“The NRL Integrity Unit has been informed.”
Queensland police said the notice was issued due to the disturbance of a number of people in the area.
It’s the latest chapter in a rollercoaster season for the reigning premiers, who have lost assistant coach Ben Te’o after an altercation with coach Michael Maguire, and won just two of their first four games.
