A trailer for the Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance TV anime has been released, introducing its core characters and revealing a July 4, 25:00 JST (effectively July 5 at 01:00 JST) broadcast start date.
The new Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA entry’s premise involves the organization EXCEEDS, which handles crises and calamities caused by mysterious invasive creatures that appeared 30 years ago and continue to threaten humanity’s safety. Protagonist Shiina is a hunter of these creatures, who lives with her sister and only family Setsuna.
Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance was announced alongside the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS manga, which began serialization in April 2025 and starts with the franchise’s eponymous Nanoha Takamichi as a 13-year-old teenager (Nanoha is nine at the start of the franchise and has been depicted at older ages in later titles).
Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA is a spin off of the eroge series Triangle Heart. The first anime was a 2004 TV series directed by Akiyuki Shinbo (Monogatari Series and Puella Magi Madoka Magica chief director). The starting premise saw Nanoha becoming a magical girl to aid a mage in finding the Jewel Seeds. Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance is the first new anime in the franchise since 2018’s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation movie.
