It is a Reiwa-set sequel to Koshita’s Hono no Tokyuji Dodge Danpei manga, which debuted in CoroCoro Comic magazine in 1989 and ended in 1995. It inspired its own TV anime adaptation between 1991 and 1992 and several video games.
Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Danko follows Danko Ichigeki — the daughter of the first series’ protagonist Danpei Ichigeki.
