here’s when to see it

April’s Full Moon arrives on Thursday 2 April. It expands from a waxing gibbous to officially become full at exactly 1:11pm AEDT. This Full Moon is special for a few reasons. It’s known as the Pink Full Moon, a colloquial name drawn from European, Native American and Colonial sources. Sadly, it won’t be literally pink, rather its name refers to its seasonal timing, heralding the blooming of springtime flowers in the Northern Hemisphere.

The other special feature of this Moon? This will be the Paschal Full Moon – which is the first Full Moon following the March Equinox. Sometimes, if March’s Full Moon is very late in the month, the Paschal Moon can indeed be in March. But more often than not, April’s Full Moon is known as the Paschal Full Moon. Why is this significant? Well, it’s this particular Full Moon that determines the timing of Easter each year. Easter is always the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon. So, you can thank April’s Pink Full Moon for the early April timing of your public holidays in 2026.

What you can expect to come from the April Full Moon placement in Libra

A Full Moon is the energetic peak of the Moon Cycle. There is always an intense, emotional and overwhelmed moody feeling that begins to stir as we approach the Full Moon period. The air is more electric and, in addition to being more sensitive, we feel more energised. Perhaps even having trouble sleeping. It’s because the Moon rules over our inner and emotional selves, bringing this side of our being to a heightened state.

While this combination can be both enlivening and overwhelming, the path ahead of us is astrologically clear. The theme of Aries season will be about consolidation. We are at a moment free of retrogrades, emerging out of a period of intense transformation; months of shedding and learning from the mistakes of the past. Now, we’re putting it all into practice. Our Full Moon in Libra gives us that extra energy boost to go the extra mile and continue down the new avenue we’ve forged for ourselves.

That said, weathering the storm that was the end of 2025 means that many of us, especially the peacekeepers among us – that is Taurus, Cancer, Pisces and Libra – are hesitant to disturb the balance they’ve managed to reestablish. With Pisces dulling the fieriness of Mars in this moment, conflict avoidance is at an all-time high. But in trying to preserve a sense of calm and harmony, you can lose out in the process. Sweeping things under the rug to avoid all conflict can engineer a situation where you’re being taken advantage of. During this Full Moon, you will have to remember your own boundaries. Even if you are someone who likes to give their time and energy freely, remember to understand the difference between doing a favour and feeling exploited. And if you do feel that a line has been crossed, you risk your agreeable nature becoming an expectation. It’s best to nip things in the bud now before they emerge into a bigger problem in the future.

Ultimately, this moment will feel like a forward push. We’re already driving towards our next milestone, and this Full Moon has us pressing the accelerator. Indecision will be your enemy. Fail to take your shot and you might miss the opportunity altogether. Of course, it’s always important to keep a clear head and think honestly about what you want and what you’ve learned over the last few months. At the same time, remember that you miss 100 per cent of the shots that you don’t take.
