With travel concerns rising, are you rethinking flights?
United Airlines just announced a new seating option called Relax Row, coming in 2027, comprised of three economy seats that transform into a couch after takeoff.
“You know that feeling when the plane door closes and you realize you get the full row to yourself? We made that a real thing,” wrote United on Instagram.
Relax Row travelers enjoy a “lie-flat mattress-like space,” according to the airline, with individually adjustable leg rests that fold up at a 90-degree angle so that customers have more room to sleep, stretch out, or watch a movie.
The airline says Relax Row is ideal for couples, families with small children, and travelers who want more space during a long-haul flight in economy.
The booking includes a custom-fitted mattress pad, blankets, pillows, and a plush toy and travel kit for kids.
“Customers traveling in United Economy on long-haul flights deserve an option for more space and comfort, and this is one way we can deliver that for them,” said Andrew Nocella, executive vice president and chief commercial officer for United, in a statement. “United is the only North American airline offering a product like the United Relax Row and is one of the many reasons why we’re continuing to win brand loyal customers.”
Relax Row will be available in more than 200 Boeing 787 and Boeing 777 aircraft by 2030, according to the airline, and there will be up to 12 Relax Row sections per plane. The airline has not provided the cost of the new seating option.
