Norwood’s beloved clothing store, Sooki Boutique has announced it will close its bricks-and-mortar venue, marking the end of an era on The Parade.
“It’s goodbye Norwood, and thanks for having us, we’ve loved every single moment,” the Sooki team said.
“We’ll miss our customers just as much as they’ll miss us, that’s for sure.”
The much-loved boutique has confirmed it will close its Norwood location in just over four weeks, with a final sale now underway. The decision, to not extend their lease, was made with a ‘heavy heart’ and not one taken without deep consideration.
For locals who have long relied on the store for standout pieces, personalised styling and a warm, familiar shopping experience, the news marks the end of a significant chapter in Norwood retail.
“It wasn’t a decision we took lightly, but one we felt necessary and one we’ve truly embraced.”
While the physical space is closing, Sooki aren’t entirely ghosting us. Instead they’ll be shifting their focus to completely online, where you can still look at all the freshest finds.
“Our flagship store has been an epic journey and something we will deeply miss, but this isn’t the end – it’s a shift.
“With new developments and changes ahead, we’re embracing this next chapter with positivity and confidence,” they said. “We’ll continue to show up in a meaningful way online and are always just a message away.”
The announcement has sparked an outpouring of support, with many long-time customers sharing memories and messages on social media, something the team says has been both emotional and deeply special.
“This is the end of such an iconic era, thank you for all of the incredible memories,” one commenter shared.
“What you’ve achieved is truly inspiring, a fabulous success story. We’ll all miss Norwood, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s delighted that the story isn’t over,” another said.
Since 1998, Sooki Boutique has been a go-to destination for fashion lovers, thanks to the vision and passion of owner Zahra Moffa. With a background in fashion and tailoring, Zahra built Sooki into a carefully curated space showcasing Australian designers including Alice McCall, Bec & Bridge, Tigerlily and Spell.
“It was always more than just a retail space to us, and we’re excited to channel that same energy into new experiences as we move into what’s next.”
For now, there’s still a short window for customers to visit the Norwood store one last time, browse the final sale and say goodbye to a boutique that has been part of The Parade for generations.
