COMING SOON: SA internet personality John Kapiris to open second Kapirisland Pizza spot in Adelaide’s north

If you’re a fan of pizza (and who isn’t) and you like the sound of the biggest pizza slice you’ll find in the country, then you’ll absolutely adore Kapirisland Pizza.

Kapirisland Pizzas, the brainchild of outspoken Adelaide entrepreneur John Kapiris, is opening its second location soon in Salisbury, promising a bigger space, the same food that’s already got Adelaide’s east raving, and a whole lot of chaos in the best way possible. The Park Terrace, Salisbury location is expected to open during April.

Kapiris, a Northside local, has been turning heads with his viral pizza creations at his Glen shop, and now he’s bringing that same energy to the northern suburbs. “We’ve gutted the whole shop, brand new equipment, everything,” he says. “It’s going to be awesome. Mid to late April is the target, fingers crossed.”

Kapiris is well known across his social platforms, racking up masses of views with skits and unconventional promotions, which first gained attention back in his greengrocer days.

The new Salisbury spot promises a systemised experience that mirrors his Glynde shop: same prices, same products, same flashy offerings, like the infamous “Big Daddy Box” and giant pizza slices designed for maximum Instagram impact. “It’s a bit of a game changer in the pizza industry,” Kapiris says. “Looks really good at parties, fun for the kids, and good aesthetics all round.”

Gourmet options include the Neapolitan, loaded with anchovies, olives, cheese and bocconcini, and the Moroccan, featuring marinated lamb and roasted peppers. For those who prefer classic flavours, there’s BBQ Chicken with pineapple, Capricosa, and Cheesy Garlic.

Kapirisland brings a blend of Italian and Greek cuisine, offering everything from classic pizza to authentic Greek takeaway, plus schnitzels, ribs, steaks, and more. Beyond the pizza, Kapirisland also serves up authentic Greek favourites, giving the menu a Mediterranean twist. Diners can tuck into classics like moussaka, pastitsio, cabbage-stuffed rolls, and lemon-baked potatoes, and more. Pizza still dominates the menu, Kapiris says it makes up around 80% of the business, but the other Mediterranean bites are winning fans too.

You’ll also be able to look forward to retro-inspired, all-you-can-eat nights, with details in the works. Think the kind of feasts you used to have as a kid at fast food joints like Sizzler and Pizza Hut.

And for those on a budget, there’s no skimping on value: Tuesdays bring $10 pizzas, and Wednesdays deliver 15-inch pies for $15.

For John, it’s all about seeing new faces in the restaurant. So if anyone’s hesitant to stop by, John says, “we hope they’ll say, f**k it, you know what? What have we got to lose?”

“It’s not about making money on those days,” Kapiris explains. “It brings in new customers who’ll come back for their proper order later.”

Bringing Kapirisland to the north side has always been on John’s bucket list, and we get the sense he’s treating it like something of a homecoming. “Originally, my first shop was meant to be Northside anyway,” he says. The Northside is clearly very close to his heart. “I’m a born and bred, Virginia boy,” he proudly proclaims.

Although it’s not set in motion just yet, John has bold plans for Kapirisland Pizza even beyond this new shop. “There’s definitely room for more shops in the Northside over the next couple of years. I’ve definitely got a soft spot for Virginia, my old hometown.”

Kapirisland Pizzas is set to bring a big, bold, and unapologetically fun slice of the Mediterranean north-side, and if the Glen shop is anything to go by, Salisbury residents are in for a wild ride filled with delicious food.
