HBO Max drops trailer for long awaited HARRY POTTER television adaptation

Hogwarts is almost back in session, with HBO Max today unveiling the first official teaser for its upcoming Harry Potter television series.

The newly released trailer offers a first glimpse at the small screen adaption in action, confirming the opening chapter will revisit Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone across an eight episode season.

The teaser revisits Harry’s early life with the Dursleys before that life changing Hogwarts letter arrives, setting up a return to the wizarding world with a new cast stepping into familiar roles.

Dominic McLaughlin leads the series as Harry, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, with John Lithgow, Janet McTeer and Nick Frost among the key adult cast.

Francesca Gardiner serves as writer and executive producer, with Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes as part of a production backed by HBO and Warner Bros. Television.

The series is expected to expand on moments only briefly touched on in the books, bringing new detail to Harry’s early years before and during his arrival at Hogwarts.
