The South Australian Parliamentary Labor Party has confirmed a reshuffled frontbench, with three new MPs elected to Cabinet as the Malinauskas Government begins its second term.
The Member for Elder, Nadia Clancy, the Member for Florey, Michael Brown, and incoming Member for Unley, Alice Rolls, have been selected by Caucus to join the Ministry.
They replace outgoing Cabinet members Zoe Bettison, Andrea Michaels, and Nat Cook, who leave behind a combined decades-long contribution to the frontbench.
Two additional MPs have also been elevated, with the Member for Gibson, Sarah Andrews, and incoming Member for Enfield, Lawrence Ben, elected as Assistant Ministers.
Premier Peter Malinauskas thanked the outgoing Ministers for their service, acknowledging their longstanding roles within both Cabinet and the broader Parliamentary Labor Party.
Zoe Bettison spent 12 years on the frontbench, most recently as Minister for Tourism and Minister for Multicultural Affairs. Her earlier roles spanned portfolios including Ageing, Communities and Social Inclusion, Social Housing, Volunteers and Youth under the Weatherill Government.
Nat Cook served eight years on the frontbench, including as Minister for Human Services and Minister for Seniors and Ageing Well. She has been a strong advocate for vulnerable South Australians throughout her time in Cabinet.
Andrea Michaels, who resigned from Parliament at the recent election, spent six years on the frontbench. Her portfolios included Arts, Consumer and Business Affairs, and Small and Family Business.
While stepping down from Cabinet, Bettison and Cook will remain in the Parliamentary Labor team.
The new Ministry will be sworn in at Government House tomorrow morning at 10:45am.
