Alliances tested at halfway as tribes merge on AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR

The buffs are dropping tonight and the game is about to get personal as Australian Survivor: Redemption hits its next phase with the long-awaited merge.

After weeks of tribe lines and cautious alliances, with a mix of new and returning players chasing redemption, and as viewers continue settling into David Genat as the show’s new host, the competition shifts into a sharper, more ruthless gear.

Tonight’s episode sees the Barren and Bounty tribes become one at the halfway mark of the season, with 13 castaways still in the hunt as the battle for Sole Survivor enters its most demanding stretch.

It follows last episode’s Tribal Council, where a planned split vote between Faith and Sally forced a deadlock, before Mark, Caleb and Richard combined on the revote to blindside Faith just ahead of the merge.

Despite the momentum on screen, the season has struggled to maintain traction with viewers, with linear viewing down year on year. While the network points to it as the most streamed season to date, any digital growth has been unable to offset the linear decline.

It comes as the season continues to spark mixed reactions, with some fans praising the returning players and big personalities, while others question the Redemption Island and non-elimination twists, which at times have dulled the stakes and slowed the strategic momentum.

Beyond the main game, a new companion series for 2026, Jury’s Out, hosted by former players Shonee Bowtell and Nick Iadanza, launches Tuesday March 24, unpacking each elimination with booted players. It will be available to stream on the 10 website and app after each episode.

Australian Survivor: Redemption continues tonight, Sunday 22 March at 7.00pm, and continues Monday and Tuesday at 7.30pm on 10, with catch up available via the 10 website and app.
