Taylor was named Young Footballer of the Year February nominee via a panel appointed by the Australian Professional Leagues (APL).
The panel features an assortment of media representatives and technical football experts, who vote on a 3-2-1 basis at the conclusion of each nominated monthly period throughout the season.
For the February nomination, panelists assessed individual performances between February 6 and March 1 which covered rounds 16-19 of the Isuzu UTE A-League.
During that period Taylor shone for the Jets, bagging a brilliant hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Adelaide United.
In total Newcastle played four matches during the voting period and Taylor featured prominently in all of them as they defeated Adelaide, Perth Glory, Macarthur Bulls and drew with rivals Central Coast Mariners.
Taylor is the fourth player nominated for the award so far this season after former Brisbane Roar defender Lucas Herrington scooped the nomination for the October/November period, while Jets teammates Eli Adams and Lachlan Bayliss scooped the December and January nominations respectively.
Taylor and his top of the table Jets are next in action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Allianz Stadium to take on Sydney FC.
