Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat was taken to hospital during the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka after suffering what appeared to be a left-shoulder injury while attempting to prevent a boundary.
The incident occurred early in Bangladesh’s chase, in the sixth over, when Litton Das drove Mohammad Wasim through the off side.
Talat sprinted across toward the cover boundary and tried to pull the ball back from the rope, but misjudged his footing and stepped on the boundary foam as he reached the ball.
Moments later, he lost balance and crashed into the advertising boards, landing awkwardly and heavily on his left shoulder. Team members and support staff quickly gathered around him as he remained down in visible discomfort.
A stretcher was brought onto the field, and Talat was moved to a nearby ambulance before being taken for further medical checks.
In an official update, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said Talat received immediate on-field treatment from the team’s medical personnel and was then transported to hospital for a detailed assessment.
“Talat received immediate medical attention from the team’s medical staff on the field. Following the initial assessment, he has been taken to a hospital for a detailed examination,” the PCB said, adding that the severity and exact nature of the injury will be confirmed after doctors complete further evaluation.
