Fashion trends change drastically in Pakistan every year, especially near Eid when designers and brands introduce new styles. Last year, the Farshi Shalwar paired with short shirts became a popular trend. It was endorsed by brands, designers, celebrities, and women across Pakistan. The trend also reached India, where multiple Indian influencers and celebrities were seen wearing it.
This year, however, the Farshi Shalwar trend has largely faded, and another style has been introduced by fashion designers and brands. While long shirts had already been in fashion for nearly a decade, designers have now extended their length even further, turning them into floor-length shirts.
In an interview with ARY News, a designer also confirmed that the Farshi Shalwar trend has now been replaced by Farshi Shirts — floor-length shirts. Designer Kiran Afzal said, “Last year Farshi Shalwar was in; now Farshi shirts are in, which are long till your feet. Nowadays, people are mostly demanding full-length shirts with culottes, palazzos, and shalwars. However, not everyone is following this trend yet, but designers are busy making Farshi Shirts this season.” Watch here:
