Disney+ has introduced a new feature called Verts that presents content in a vertical, swipe-based format. The feature is designed to help users discover movies and shows on the platform through short clips.
The company described Verts as a new way to explore stories on Disney+ through a dynamic feed.
TikTok Style Content Browsing
The new feature is accessible through a Verts icon in the navigation bar within the Disney+ mobile app. After opening it, users can scroll vertically through scenes and moments taken from movies and shows available on the platform.
While browsing the feed, viewers can add titles directly to their Watchlist or start watching them immediately.
Personalized Recommendations
Disney said early tests of the feature have already increased engagement on the platform.
The company said this improvement is partly driven by an advanced recommendation algorithm designed to personalize the feed for each user.
Future Expansion
Disney also indicated that Verts represents only the first phase of its vertical video plans.
In the future, the feature could expand to include content from creators connected to Disney’s fan communities, along with new storytelling formats and personalized experiences.
