His last day is today.
This was the email sent out to staff from Heith Mackay-Cruise:
Good morning all,
As you may remember from our recent staff town hall, I spoke about the importance of leadership clarity in the Company and shared that you could expect further changes in the coming period to achieve this.
With that in mind, I am writing today to inform you of further leadership changes that will bring about the clarity and focus the organisation requires as we move forward together.
Those changes are outlined as follows:

TV Blackbox has heard some were even in tears.
Many are wondering if there is anyone with television experience left to run the network.
This post updates.
Before departing Seven today, Angus sent out this email to the content team:
Hi Content Team and friends,
I’m incredibly sad to let you all know that today will be my last day at Seven after nearly 27 years – and wow, what a ride!
It has been such a pleasure and a privilege to work alongside each of you. I am so proud of what we’ve achieved together – most of the time on the smell of an oily rag! Ever the underdogs.
Our list of content driven achievements is extraordinary. Just a few highlights:
- Number one for 17 of the past 19 years – one of the most sustained periods of market leadership for any major television network globally, not just in Australia.
- Finishing 2025 with our most dominant performance ever.
- Two consecutive years of Total TV growth, including growing audiences across key tentpole franchises – a result that defies international trends post Covid.
- Securing the content across Entertainment and Sport that has driven unprecedented digital growth on 7plus.
- Launching the strongest combination of multichannels, with 7mate and 7two as absolute category leaders.
- Taking home-grown formats to the world – Border Security, MKR, House Rules and more.
All this success only happens because you genuinely care about the content. Keep fighting for it.
Better still, there’s so much more great entertainment to come in 2026 – Glenn and Mick’s Celebrity Intervention (it’s bloody funny!), The 1% Club Australia, SAS: AUS v ENG, Farmer Wants A Wife, The Voice, MKR, Home and Away, Better Homes and Gardens, The Chase.
Combine all that with our superb spine of News and Sport offerings and I reckon you’ll deliver leadership for an incredible 18th time.
I know I shouldn’t have favourites but Home and Away and MKR – two long running Seven owned formats with growing ratings that are seen around the world – how good are they???
A shout-out and thank you to the legends of Seven’s past who shaped my world and were very good to me (David Leckie, Bruce McWilliam, Tim Worner, Brad Lyons, John Stephens, James Warburton, Chris O’Mara)
And to the legends still present – you know who you are – I will miss you all every day.
A very special thanks to our former Chairman, Kerry Stokes – I’ve always appreciated his honesty and his genuine interest in the content we produce and acquire. He was a driving force behind our relentless pursuit of ratings success.
While I’ll no longer be at Seven living and breathing the daily ratings with you, I remain heavily invested in your success. I have complete confidence in the content structure going forward – you are the best in the business.
I’m looking forward to spending quality time with Jo, Emily and the dog before the next adventure.
Take care and stay in touch,
Angus
