Pakistan Hockey Players Set to Feature in Overseas Leagues

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has granted permission to national team players to participate in overseas hockey leagues.

According to sources, several members of the Pakistan national team will now feature in different international leagues.

Team captain Imad Butt, along with Moeen Shakeel and Ghazanfar, has already arrived in Hong Kong to compete in a league tournament.

Sources said Sufyan Khan and Ahmed Nadeem will play league hockey in France, while Rana Waheed has signed a contract with a club in Germany and will compete in the German league.

Sources also said discussions are underway for two to three additional Pakistani players to play in a league competition in Australia.

The Pakistan national hockey team is scheduled to play Pro League matches in Europe and England in June. According to sources, players currently involved in overseas leagues will return to Pakistan before the start of the national team’s Pro League training camp.

Pakistan has recently been working to stabilize its hockey setup and refocus on international competitions after administrative issues and financial disputes affected the team earlier this year.
