The alleged assault arose from an argument between two people at the laundromat when one of them was having trouble paying.

Boston police are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect who allegedly assaulted a pregnant woman at a Roxbury laundromat.

The alleged assault occurred just after 11 a.m. on March 1, police said in a press release. The violent altercation began as a dispute between two people at the laundromat, located at 104 Warren St.

An argument arose when the victim was having trouble using a payment card on the laundry machines, but it quickly escalated, according to police. The unknown assailant then allegedly interjected and kicked the victim, who was five months pregnant, in the stomach.

After the alleged assault, the suspect fled the laundromat and headed toward Moreland Street. Police have described him as an approximately 6’0” light-skinned male wearing a blue New York Yankees hat, a beige hoodie, and blue pants.

Detectives are also looking for a woman who was present during the assault and “may be associated with the suspect,” according to the statement. Though police did not have a photo of the suspect, they did include images of the woman, who is seen wearing a gray jacket, black sweatpants, and brown shoes.

Investigators are actively reviewing the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and have asked anyone with information to contact them at 617-343-4275.
