PacificAus TV has officially launched in Timor-Leste, expanding access to Australian television programming through a new partnership with national broadcaster Rádio e Televisão de Timor-Leste (RTTL).
The initiative, delivered by Free TV Australia as part of the Australian Government’s Indo-Pacific Broadcasting Strategy, provides Pacific broadcasters with free access to Australian television content for their local audiences.
The rollout follows PacificAus TV’s announcement last week that it will begin delivering weekly NRL matches to broadcasters across the Pacific, further strengthening the initiative’s growing regional footprint.

Free TV Australia CEO Bridget Fair said the launch marks another step in extending the service across the region while strengthening media ties with Timor-Leste.
“Through trusted local partners like RTTL, PacificAus TV can deliver world class content for free to communities across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.”

The launch coincides with RTTL broadcasting the current AFC Women’s Asian Cup, bringing elite women’s football to viewers in Timor-Leste and across the Pacific as part of the initiative’s growing sports offering.
Timor-Leste State Secretary for Social Communications His Excellency Expedito Dias Ximenes welcomed the partnership, saying it strengthens cultural and media ties while supporting the visibility and development of women’s football across Asia.
RTTL President of the Board of Directors Rosario da Graça Maia (main picture) said the collaboration expands the range of programming available to audiences while reinforcing the broadcaster’s public service mission.
“The launch of PacificAus TV through RTTL marks a significant step in expanding the quality and diversity of content available to our audiences.”
The expansion comes just days after PacificAus TV announced it will deliver two live NRL matches and one delayed match each week to broadcasters across the Pacific.
