GKIDS has announced that the live-action Look Back film from Hirokazu Kore-eda (Shoplifters, Broker, Monster) will screen in the US, Canada, the UK, and Ireland. More details will be revealed later.
The movie was unveiled in 2025 and will debut in Japanese theaters this year.

The original Shueisha-published Look Back one-shot by Chainsaw Man‘s Tatsuki Fujimoto was released in July 2021. The story follows two classmates who develop a friendship through a passion for drawing.
An anime movie adaptation, directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Flip Flappers director, Chainsaw Man devil designer) at his Studio Durian, was released in 2024. It won Best Animated Work award at the 48th Japan Academy Film Prize.
The Look Back manga is also available in English via Manga Plus and VIZ Media
